By Sally Brown
I have read all of Dorothy Koomsons previous novels and they are all amazing reads. This book, I am pleased to say, also falls under the category “amazing”!
This story is about Libby, a beautician, who meets a man named Jack in a car showroom but unfortunately they do not start off on the right foot. Jack is a widower and his dead wife Eve is rarely mentioned and when she is Jack tends to become distant from Libby. Jack is persistent however and finally manages to win Libby round and finally he wins her heart, they get together and marry. A terrible accident occurs one night and Libby is seriously injured. Whilst in recooperating Libby is forced to rethink their relationship and question whether Jack is still in love with Eve and whether he has ever truly loved Libby at all. Libby decides to find out as much as she can about Eve and a chance discovery helps Libby to find out things about Eve and Jack that could have devastating consequences and which could see Libby ending up like the first and maybe the only woman Jack has ever loved….Eve.
This book is moving, gripping and engaging. I found it hard to put down and would highly recommend it to both fans of Dorothy Koomson and to those who have never ventured across her books. This book deserves to be read!
