The Boondock Saints – Graphic Novel Launch!

Posted by Daniela On November - 16 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

As you might know, or really should know, some 11 years ago, Troy Duffy brought to our screens the cult film – The Boondock Saints, a compelling tale of two brothers who take justice in their own hands and deliver us from evil, all in the name of God. With a wonderful cast – Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus  as the two vigilante brothers, Willem Dafoe, David Della Rocco and Billy Conn0lly, to name a few, the movie was expected to be a hit. But due to executive meddling and a great deal of controversy due to its violence it was denied the chance to shine. Thankfully, the fans spread the word and now the movie is a cult favourite. If you don’t trust me, ask all those fans sharing tattoos as those owned by the brothers in the film. With 11 years spent in producing hell and various courts of law, a lot of time passed until the sequel – All Saints Day – but the fans didn’t forget and, after getting a brand new movie, they are asking for more. Until the third one gets made, Troy Duffy and the gang are throwing us a bone, a delicious [...]

Interview with Danielle Nicolet

Posted by Daniela On June - 4 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

Danielle Nicolet has been around for quite a while, you might be familiar with her from things such as Heartland or The Starter Wife but her career started in the early nineties in Family Matters. Since then all her roles took her one step further in developing her abilities. Today she is about to show us how well she does in Red  Faction, a new SyFy channel pilot based on the game with the same name. But have no fear, we’re all invited whether we know the game or not. We had the opportunity to interview Danielle and this is what she had to say related to the premiere of the show and her future plans. 1. Your acting has been extremely versatile – drama, comedy, fantasy and sci-fi. but this will be the first video game adaptation you do.Gamers are notorious for their attitude towards TV or movie adaptations of their favourites. Are you in any way afraid of how it will be received? I am a little bit anxious about the gamers. We really wanted to provide the existing fans a movie that would enhance their gaming experience. Origins makes it more personal, gives them some history and [...]

Anthony Ingruber – Interview

Posted by Daniela On June - 1 - 2011 2 COMMENTS

Anthony Ingruber is quite well known around the world of Youtube for his uncannily accurate depiction of such artist like Robert Downey Jr., Harrison Ford and many others, some even say he might be the latter’s long lost son, based on the similarity between the two. Since he entered the glamorous world of showbiz, Anthony has been keeping busy staring in short films (most recently Halo: Faith) and in movies, like Disney’s Channel – Avalon High. His part was small in that film, yet he is the one actor that stood out among the rest of the cast, being one of the most talked about character in the movie. Talk about making a good first impression. We were lucky enough to get an interview from Mr. Ingruber, here is what he had to say. GA: Anthony, you were made famous by your YouTube impersonations of various actors – Robert Downey, Jr., Harrison Ford. Do you think this might ever hinder your choices in the acting profession? That people might see you solely as an impersonator rather than an actor in your own rights? Anthony Ingruber:  I’m very versatile in my acting, so I hope I’m not seen purely as a [...]

Wendy Shepherd – The many layers on the cake

Posted by Daniela On February - 9 - 2011 7 COMMENTS

Once upon a time, ok…wait! Don’t close the page just yet, there is a point I am trying to make here! So back to the story. Once upon a time, a very innocent me stumbled upon this weird thing called Twitter. I had no idea what I was supposed to do, how it worked or even what its purpose was. It was just bizarre. Took me a while to figure the whole process, but eventually all became clear and I began following people. After finding some of my favourite celebrities, I started following Wendy Shepherd. Wendy, if you want to blame anyone for my incessant questions, whining and occasional rant post the time we “twitter-met”, blame Sean Flanery and Norman Reedus. Yes, no one else is to blame but them. See, they kept doing these awesome little videos on YT telling the world just how great you were so, in my most adventurous spirit I decided to go with the flow and see what all the hype was about. I admit I am quite happy about my choice and that I sometimes snicker when I see she actually has more followers than some of the actors she profiles for her [...]

The Event – One of the best new shows of 2010

Posted by Daniela On December - 16 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Well, he did have some a strong competitor in The Walking Dead, another show I just happen to love. But back to The Event. After having watched the first episode (it happened quite recently, silly me, I waited way too long to watch it) I was reminded a bit of Fringe, Lost and maybe even a bit of The 4400, but it remained just a fleeting impression. The show is quite different from all of the previously mentioned series, despite the air of mystery that shrouds each episode and almost every character. I won’t spoil anything, or do a play by numbers of each episode, I’ll just stick to praising the script, it gives you a lot of food for thought. I have noticed in recent years a switch towards making shows that appeal to almost everyone who looks for a way to numb themselves for 45 minutes. If you’re one of those people (and I’m not saying it’s a bad thing) don’t watch this show. It keeps you alert with fast paced action, a multitude of characters, who have a lot of undisclosed motives for their actions and convoluted plans to achieve their equally undisclosed goals. I am a [...]

The Beatnicks – at long last

Posted by Daniela On November - 29 - 2010 1 COMMENT

There is something called the green eyed monster. It’s been gnawing at my insides for months when I was faced with people telling me they have seen this movie. Why? Because it’s like a rare diamond, hidden from the public eye and available for what seemed like a chosen few. Last night I became one of those people lucky enough to feast on this movie and I have to say I understand something important after watching it. For a long time I have been wondering why are there no recaps available? Why won’t those who have seen it share with us what makes this movie great? I get it now. It’s something you have to see for yourself, a recap will never do it justice. A few minutes ago I praised this movie to a friend calling it “poetry in motion.” I might sound exaggerated and, for those who have seen this movie and didn’t enjoy it, even crazy, but this is just how I feel right now. We get treated to a story of two down on their luck artists, struggling to make it big, but taking two very different paths to get it, friendships are tested (yes, I [...]
