Flashpoint is a Canadian series that began airing in 2008. A police show presenting the lives of the SRU (Strategic Response Unit) members and the cases they encounter. I had heard of this show for a while now, but decided to try it on last night and I must admit the first episode blew me away. But first things first, the cast – the show features some well known Canadian actors, such as Enrico Colantoni (Just Shoot Me!, Veronica Mars), Ruth Marshall (Doc) and David Paetkau (Whisler and more recently Supernatural). Amy Jo Johnson (Felicity, The Division) is the only American to appear on the show. The setting was amazing, I have to admit I have not seen that many Canadian series before and most of the times Canadian cities are advertised as being American ones. I was impressed with their locations, the way in which the show was shot and pretty much everything else pertaining to this section of my review. And back to the action – the SRU are basically a trained unit to deal with several situations, the first episode featured a man who spoke Croatian holding a woman hostage after having shot his wife.
